Dear Parents,
The Gretna Jubilee is only about eight weeks away. Now that the holidays are over, it’s time for us to start focusing on this important school fundraiser. This year the Gretna Jubilee will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the Gretna Marketplace. It is a fun, adults-only event which raises money for four of the Westbank Advanced Academy Schools. To make this event a success, we need your support! *Advance tickets for the Gretna Jubilee are $50 each (*must be purchased by February 9th) and include an open bar with premium liquors, delicious food from over 35 restaurants, a live band and a chance to socialize and have a great time with your fellow Mudbug parents. There’s also a silent auction for which each class creates a class project and gift-basket for the parents to bid on.
I would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Nguyen and Mr. & Mrs. Lang who have already purchased tickets to the event. St. Pierre Academy is asking that all of our mudbug parents contribute to this worthy cause by to purchasing at least one ticket to the event. If you can’t attend, perhaps you can sell tickets to friends or family members. If you purchase at least one ticket by Friday, Jan. 26th, your child will be invited to attend a king cake party at school.
The theme for our “basket” will be Family Fun. We are looking for donations of fun things that families can do around town. We are counting on each family to contribute by either securing passes, gift cards or donations to add to our class basket which will be auctioned at the Jubilee. Ms. Blair Bourgeois, Arlen’s mom, has already secured a gift certificate for Westside Lanes and a family pass for the Children’s Museum. She has also already been in contact with Sector 6 and Chateau Orleans restaurant for donations. Examples of other gift certificates include: BooKoo Bounce, Laser Tag, Candyland Inflatables, AMC Movie Theaters, tickets to professional ball games, passes to the World War II Museum, Audubon Zoo, Skate Country, Painting with a Twist etc. Gift cards to kid friendly restaurants such as Chili’s, TGIFridays, Applebee’s, Cane’s etc. are also a great idea. Ms. Bourgeois has offered to coordinate this effort to ensure that no one wastes time contacting businesses that have already donated, so if you receive a donation or make contact with a business, please let her know. Her contact information will be sent to you via email. I have attached a tax donation letter for you to give to any company willing to make a donation to our school. For every $20 in donations made by a student by Friday, February 23, 2018, the student will earn a dress-down pass. Remember, that the proceeds from the sale of our auction item and our project go directly to our school, St. Pierre Academy.
Additionally, if you have family or friends who may be able to sponsor the event, please let me know as different levels of sponsorship are available.
Our class project which will be a framed original piece of art created by the hard-working little hands of your creative children. Remember, auction items and class projects can only be yours if you purchase a ticket and attend this truly enjoyable event.
Thanking you in advance for your support,
Marilyn Morvant
